Cormorants
As reported in the last edition of “The Buzzer”, the Committee are working with The Angling Trust to consider ways in which we might counter the threat to fish stocks posed by increasing numbers of cormorants. Our OFFC representative travelled to a meeting in Birmingham at which clubs were urged to build comprehensive evidence of the scale of the problem in their area. Members are asked to ensure that ANY sightings are reported (there is a section on the catch return for just such information), including numbers of birds, locations, times, fish bearing injury marks. Any photographs of birds on our waters would strengthen our case for applying for a control order.
