OLDHAM FLY FISHING CLUB
Summer Programme 2022
Due to the reappearance of covid in the Oldham and surrounding area during at various times during the previous, two years,the committee decided that some fishing competitions should be postponed. It is now deemed that it is safe to open competition again so these are the proposed competitions dates and times. I hope they meet with members approval.
Wednesday 15thJune 2022 Bernard Gill Midsummer Trophy Piethorne Reservoir
This competition will be fished from 7:00pm to 10:00pm, with weigh-in at 10:15pm. If you wish to take part in this competition, please give your name and entry fee to the Fishing Manager (or his assigned deputy) at Duffers corner between 6:15pm and 6:45pm. The entry fee, £3.00, catch limit, 4Fish, and fishing rules are Competitors must move at least 25 yards from where they catch a fish and must not return to that spot for the duration of the contest.
Sunday 10th July 2022 Junior Competition Piethorne Reservoir
This competition is for under 16-year-olds, who are either members of the club or non-members interested in trying fly fishing for the first time. The competition will be fished from 2:00pm to 5:00pm, with weigh-in at 5:15pm. Casting coaching can be provided prior to the competition from 1:30pm to 2:00pm if required. The competition is free to enter for junior club members and £4 for non club members. For those fishing the competition the limit is 3 fish. Competitors must move at least 25 yards from where they catch a fish and must not return to that spot for the duration of the contest. All juniors under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times. If you wish to take part in this competition, please contact the fishing manageron or before 4th July (this is required to arrange any necessary fishing licences and/or the loan of fishing equipment etc.).Angling Trust Safeguarding Policies can be found online with a link on the club website.
Sunday 2ndOctober 2022 Framos Cup Piethorne Reservoir
This competition will be fished from 1:00pm to 4:30pm, with weigh-in at 4:45pm. If you wish to take part in this competition, please give your name and entry fee to the Fishing Manager (or his assigned deputy) at Duffers corner between 12:30pm and 12:45pm. The entry fee, catch limit and fishing rules are the same as the Bernard Gill Midsummer Trophy
